At Penkraft, we teach you Calligraphy not just as a technique, but from the heart – using the simplest of equipment…be it a pencil, a fountain pen, a calligraphy nib, a charcoal piece or any other object of daily use around the house…..any & every one of these is amenable to creating a beautiful calligraphic pattern! We kindle your imagination & challenge your creativity! In this modern calligraphy workshop, you will learn everything about how to get started with quirky handwritten lettering styles. And you will learn how to write with a traditional fountain pen, using lightness and pressure to create beautiful thin and thick strokes. We will cover pen “pressure and release” techniques along with the basics of illustrating letters.
Moreover, you will be introduced with different inks, pens and papers, as well as consider how to choose the best materials for your own work. This is a practical, informal class and the focus will be on having lots of fun while learning. We also teach you to care for your instruments & how to curate and maintain them.
